100th Birthday

I have an existing client that I've been working with for a few years. She's one of my favorite because she is always so full of life. She cares for her 99 year old dad and her husband every day. Her daddy is turning 100 this weekend and she wanted his "apartment" redone. It's an addition they have added to their home and it wasn't decorated at all. She wanted me to work around his "comfy" chair and the existing furniture that was special to her. What I did was add draperies, a rug, accessories and artwork and it made a huge difference. They are having a big family party this weekend to celebrate his life and I'm sure having this room will be a fun addition.

You go girls!

We had a some tile left from our kitchen/entry remodel recently and I decided it would make a great outdoor table for by the pool. Today the girls and I broke all the pieces and created a new tabletop. Love when you can use something that was going to be thrown away and turn it into something useful and create a memory while doing it!

It was really hard for me to give instruction and then let them take it from there. I know however, that the best way for them to learn and get those creative juices going is for me to be "hands off". I was very proud of them, they worked hard in the heat and finished it up today.

FOCUS on nature

During my Colorado trip I once again realized that just because I didn't have client's for two weeks didn't mean that my creative juices weren't flowing. Of course, now that I have a new camera, I had to capture all the beauty I saw on the hikes we took in the Rocky Mountains. I was always the last to return from the hike but LOVED every minute of my "stroll" as I took photo's. I've condensed the pictures down to my favorites.
I love to see, hear and smell the beauty of nature. Check out the way these home owner's used drift wood for their doors and entryways. For those of you that know me, you know that I love driftwood and anything that is "all natural." Don't be surprised if next time you visit me I have a new door handle.
I'd love to have these doors as the interior doors in my house!

I know it's not cool to destroy nature but this was irresistible.REFRESHING WATER

Nature hunt, you'll be surprised what you'll find to decorate with. I'm going to blow some of these pictures up and use them as wall art! Inexpensive to create original artwork for your home. It has a memory too - a quiet solitude walk in the brisk 50 degree weather of Colorado

Every flower is a work of art

I just returned home from Colorado and I had a blast with family and friends.

Before I left, I purchased a new camera so I could take some better pictures for my blog. While in Colorado we took several long nature hikes so I captured as many wild flowers as I could. So inspiring to see how God created all these amazing colors for us to enjoy!

I'm really happy with the color that my camera seems to pick up! Over the next few days, I'll be posting some other pictures of really cool elements that I found our some of our hikes in the mountains.
