As I've mentioned, they are travel agents as well. Each year they take about 8 ladies to Paris for a "flea market" extravaganza!!!! Valerie, one of the owners from the Red Shed met with me a couple weeks ago and was so very generous and gave me some tips for shopping at flea markets while I was in Paris over Thanksgiving. It was so very helpful to know what metro to take from our hotel, how to greet the store owner's, what to take to make my experience easier and which areas had the best items. IT WAS AWESOME! Thank you Valerie for sharing this gift with me. My friend Becca and I stayed an extra day in Paris to shop and the men took the kids back to Spain. We both found some incredible items and had such fun browsing all the stores/booths. Everything from crystal, textiles, furniture, old postcards, lamps, chandeliers, books, etc. etc. Becca even found some nice furniture that she's having shipped to Spain where they live.
I wish I had taken more photo's but I was so into the shopping that I tuned out the world.
This tapestry was one of my splurges. I've already hung it in my entry. I purchased two of them. I absolutely loved them when I saw them and didn't know where they were going to go or how they would be used. It took me a while to decide whether I should buy them because of the $$$ but I kept thinking about them and decided it was worth it. I'm SO GLAD I did because I LOVE THEM! They use to hang in an old church from the 1,800's. The other tapestry will become a bench for a client! Perfect size for the bottom of a King bed.
